Winpopup installed by default in the each computer with network support but only in the Windows 95/98/Me.
If you want to send and receive the messages with GUI
interface, under Windows NT / Windows 2000 / Windows XP / Windows NET or
you want a better functionality and true 32 bit application ( for an any windows system ) , you should use our
winpopup replacement LanTalk XP. LanTalk XP
provide a lot of useful functions. You can download LanTalk XP here.
Winpopup enables you to send brief messages to other users
or systems on the network instantaneously.
In the To field of the Send Message dialog box, enter the
name of a user or computer on the network, using either a user's logon name or
the computer name specified on the Network Control Panel's Identification page.
If a particular user is logged on to two or more computers simultaneously with
the same user name, then they cannot receive messages and you must use a
computer name to contact them. To send a message to an entire workgroup, click
the Workgroup radio button and enter a workgroup name.
If you're reading this and you're not a sysadmin or IT manager and your office doesn't use WinPopup or our LAN messenger replacement, suggest it to your systems administrator. It will make him or her very happy, and give you a few points for knowing something about computers.
